ISM Business Symposium

This week was a great opportunity week with being able to interact with professionals. This week we had the ISM Business Symposium, which was a fantastic experience and made many great connections and understood more about being professional and just in all, a better outlook and even got much excellent advice. I had three interviews during the Business Symposium, and all three went terrific and got much great information. I would say my first interview went the best and was my favorite. Although I was grateful for all my interviews, I would say the first one I connected with her well, and she gave me great advice not just for my field of study but also for life and even college. One thing that stood out to me that she said was, "Even though it doesn't seem like it, graduation is right around the corner," and it truly hit me hard when she said that. I knew that It was coming up fast, but at that moment, I stopped and looked at myself, and my whole life flashed before my eyes. My life went by quickly, and I feel like it's just so crazy that I will hopefully be in college in a year from now. To me, I still look at myself as a little 14-year-old.

She also said that it has stuck with me because I will go far in life and succeed. When I heard that, my whole mood changed, and I told myself that all my hard work is truly paying off. If a professional thinks that about me, then I know that I will be okay in life. During that interview, I finally found peace and happiness within myself and feel like even with COVID; I will be okay. The three professionals I met with were terrific, and thank them so much. They changed my outlook on many things, and I have to take a chance and keep on moving because if you stop, it will be hard to start moving again. Therefore, this week was such a great experience, and I thank Coach Goff and the ISM program and my interviewees for all the new advice and for opening my eyes even more expansive. A little more insight into my three interviews, the first one I got to connect with, and talk about my life journey, and she was very inspiring. My second interview was fascinating because I got to have some information about how stress never really leaves but different ways to deal with it and how he dealt with it in everyday life and college, which was very inspiring. My; last interview went very well and helped me think and release that even though my journey ahead will be challenging, give up because the life I will make up for myself will be very successful. I am just so grateful I go to gain so much information on just being my best self and being more professional and continue the ISM journey.
