This week I had a very calm and research week. I was able to work a lot on my Original work and really looked into adoption and how therapy helps. Since my brother and I are both adopted, I really wanted to look more into the topic. Since we both know very little about the whole situation, I decided to make my research assessment of the week about Apoted Child Syndrome and how it truly affects people of all ages. In some of my past interviews, I have been asked the same question over and over again and honestly didn’t have an answer for it but know I know or at least have a tremendous feeling if I am going to go throws the more therapist field I want to really have one of my best overall topics to being helping adopted people of all ages but really children through there trauma in a very health and right way. Looking back, my brother and I could have had some better resources growing up t help us with our trauma, and I definitely believe it would have helped a significant amount. With all the new therapy methods that I am looking more into, I think that adoption trauma can get better when a person is younger, learning the therapy ways and counting as getting older to still help with trauma. I do believe, though, that trauma is a thing where just most people can not and will not get over, and it’s not something it only gets around. You have to want to help yourself to be able to contact and really have that help flow into you. Many people look at adoption and feel bad or pity for those, but out of the experience, I know it is a beautiful thing, and I am so excited to counties my journey and learn more about it!
